How long has he been sitting there, may be he is waiting for some one. Even the poor dog has gone to sleep.

I really like the take you have on the theme. It is obvious he has been there a while, the dog is so comfortable and patient. Great image.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. It is amazing how one can find such solitude surrounded by so many people. Cities are marvelous places.

Unfortunately, here, public seating is more and more difficult to find. In an effort to make parks and public spaces less friendly to homeless people and loiterers, seating is uncomfortabl, narrow and often tilted (to prevent people from sleeping on them). The result is that parks and other public spaces are often empty spaces which people don’t use except to walk through. Then the city says no one is using a park so they want to eliminate it….
Personally, I don’t see why they can’t make public spaces MORE welcoming to everyone, whoever they are.
As someone who has back problems, I find it almost impossible to find someplace to sit while waiting for a bus because the few seats that ARE there are being used by other people. And there are often no places to sit along a street so I rarely can spend any time walking downtown, any more.

I thought this photo was really cool. I like the contrast between the relaxing gentleman and the traffic. He is making the best of it.

this made me feel sad. i don’t know why exactly. maybe because of the realization that somewhere in time, we will be an old man or woman, who prefers to be within the confines of their private thoughts. that may not be bad, but it is the thought of being alone that makes me sad.
