This is a mural in front of the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Services in Oakland, CA. When I captured this image, I thought the place was a medical clinic, but I found out that it’s actually a school teaching ancient form of Asian medicine like accupuncture, etc.

Photo Hunt #174: Local Street/Texture
When we went to Puerto Vallarta (2011) I noticed that the local street has rough texture, from the cobblestone. Most of the downtown area has cobblestone.
Not too far away from downtown the local street is unpaved. A totally different texture from the cobblestone.

Monday Mural #6:
Since the beginning of joining this meme until now and for the foreseeable weeks of Monday Mural, I’d be sharing with you photos that I took before I even knew of the existence of this meme.
This one for instance was shot 2/13/10 while running errands. We were driving along San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley when at a stop light I spotted the side wall of Mi Tierra Foods decorated with this mural. I took a shot because, well, it looked pretty from where I was sitting. I only glanced at it while on a stop light.
While preparing to share this I googled if there is some information available on this mural. Turns out there is. This mural is called LIVING WITHOUT BORDERS (Vivir Sin Fronteras). 18′ x 58′ acrylic mural on stucco.
