On May 27, 2012 as a culmination of a weekend of merrymaking to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, the city had fireworks display. I mentioned before that we did not want to be caught in traffic in the city so we just watched the fireworks from across the bay at Point Isabel in Richmond/El Cerrito. From this dog park there is an unobstructed view of the Golden Gate Bridge. With many others, we stood close to the shore with excitement in anticipation of the fireworks. Many had cameras and tripods set up. We set up our tripod early too.

The lights on the bridge were turned off when the pyrotechnics show began.
It was a marvelous few minutes display in the night sky.

At one point, the sky turned red. Happy birthday indeed.
The first image is totally SOOC while the second one is clarified a tad so the bay waters can be delineated a bit.
