Photo Hunt #132: Looking Down
For this week’s theme, I am going to dig deeeeep into my chest of old photos from 2005 for shots I took looking down at Grand Canyon while enjoying a ride on a 6-seater plane.
That’s Colorado river down there.
A sight not commonly seen I thought.
Here’s another section of Colorado River.

Skywatch # 141: May 25th sky
I was driving from Monterey yesterday when I captured these shots from the front seat of the car. It was a long drive. The weather forecast called for drizzle in the central coast. And just like last year at this time, it was raining – not just drizzling. So I was happy to see the cloudscapes that kept me company throughout the drive home. Photos were taken on Highway 101.

My World #120: The flowers in my garden
Someone told me that when we have wet winters, the roses are blooming spectacularly in May. Well, we had a wet fall, winter and spring so it wouldn’t surprise me if my garden is abloom right? But I still couldn’t believe that I have flowers like these. Allow me to show you what’s making me smile each time I step out of my front and back door?
When we moved in this house, these roses were neglected. I initially wanted to dig them up and plant new roses – or something else in their spots, but my husband asked if we could give them another year to show us what they can produce. So in the fall, we pruned them, cultivated and amended the soil, and fertilized them. I’m glad I listened to my husband to give them another chance.
My day lily survived countless gopher attacks.
This is another from the lily family right? Need help identifying. I really loved this plant because it’s hardy and the flower is so dainty.
My geraniums don’t want to be outdone, they are such a showy plant and I love looking at the blooms.
I love this rose plant, it’s becoming my favorite.
Photo Hunt #131: Cluttered & Challenge Walk in the Street #10:
It begins with good intentions. Refreshments for the runners.
A few feet away, the street is cluttered with used cups. It would be a long day for cleaners.
I may have used these photos before, but I don’t have any other photos to clear the theme for today. Have a lovely weekend y’all!

Sky Watch #140:
I love those sunny days with blue skies adorned with wispy, flirty cloud cover.

Signs, Signs #19: Neon
Vegas is a goldmine for people who hunt for signs. I have captured a few of them on my last visit in January of 2009.

Watery Wednesday #107: Merlion @ night
The Merlion (Malay: Singa-Laut) is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot of Singapore. Its name combines “mer” meaning the sea and “lion”. The fish body represents Singapore’s origin as a fishing village when it was calledTemasek, which means “sea town” in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore’s original name — Singapura — meaning “lion city” or “kota singa”.
The symbol was designed by Fraser Brunner, a member of the Souvenir Committee and curator of the Van Kleef Aquarium, for the logo of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in use from 26 March 1964 to 1997[1] and has been its trademarked symbol since 20 July 1966. Although the STB changed their logo in 1997, the STB Act continues to protect the Merlion symbol.[2] Approval must be received from STB before it can be used. The Merlion appears frequently on STB-approved souvenirs.
