Sky Watch #110: February Sky

IMG_0216

Was uploading new pictures of the Coastal Clean up activity that I took while helping rid the coast of rubbish when I started flipping thru my albums. I knew that I took quite a few sky watch images over the course of the year and I was right. I found this gorgous sky sitting in my February 2010 album. So I thought I’d share it with you. We’ve been having blue skies all week long.

Watery Wednesday #76: Cooling Off

IMG_0977

This last week of September is definitely beach weather around this great state. SF yesterday registered a high of 96, while LA topped off the day with a 113F. Welcome to summer in the golden state.

Watery Wednesday is hosted by 2sweetnsaxy and has plenty of watery images on display.

My World #89: Confused?

P1000741

P1000743

It’s Autumn isn’t it? So why is my apple tree just started to sprout new blossoms? I was waiting for the leaves to change colors, I wasn’t ready for another round of blossoming. The photos are taken this past Saturday. Anybody else have seen this before?

P1000744

And our red rose is brimming with flowers, I am so happy. This rose was planted on the ground at the last place we lived. We dug it up and brought it with us with the move. I think it’s time to make a decision whether to plant it on the ground again or repot it to a bigger pot.

That’s what’s been happening in my world. SHOW YOUR WORLD has plenty more posts.

In designing his masterwork, The Basilica of the Holy Family (Templo de la Sagrada Familia) popularly known as Sagrada Familia, Gaudi has integrated organic and natural inspirations with tree like pillars.

Sky Watch #109: August Sky

IMG_4586small
A month ago while running errands I found this band of clouds stretching a few miles really fascinating.

Happy Autumn every body. We are getting our little taste of summer here this week. Where I live we are expected to reach the 80s for a few days. This is typical weather pattern here – September/Fall is when we feel the heat.

Window Views and Doors Too #39:

IMG_1305

I so often pass this storefront and don’t give it one thought. However, one day while the traffic slowed down I noticed that the reflection was worth noting so I grabbed the shot right away. I have my point and shoot in my hand the whole time my husband and I go for a drive or an errand. This way I don’t miss anything.

Wanna peek at what’s inside the store? Here’s Chateau Sonoma, click the link.

Watery Wednesday #75: Lake Merritt (Oakland)

IMG_0583

Lake Merritt is close to work. Sometimes when my husband has time off and I have to work he would take me here to spend my lunch break – mostly consisting of banh mi, or Vietnamese sandwiches. There are wonderful Vietnamese restaurants around the vicinity. Nothing beats the frehness of banh mi and the crispness of the bread in combination with sun and fresh air to rejuvenate me to tackle the next four hours of work.

There are plenty more watery images at WATERY WEDNESDAY. Thanks to ms 2sweetnsaxy for hosting.

My World #88: Drive By Shooting

Each time I go to the city, I begged to stay a while longer after our errands were done to enjoy the wonderful Victorians, Queen Annes, Italianates, etc. I have yet to do a photo walk around the streets of San Francisco to capture these lovely houses. However, a few months ago, over an unfortunate circumstance, we found ourselves driving really slowly around the streets of Alameda, a city in the East Bay that is known for its Victorian houses. I was doing double duty, keeping my eye on the thing that we were looking for and also drive by shooting. Here are a few of the pretty little houses I have snapped. They’re not all Victorians. Enjoy.
