Signs, Signs #34:

07 Sep

A sign inside Muir Woods.

I wonder why people throw coins in the creek. It’s the same creek that salmon use to swim to the ocean. I was lucky to visit the park when the salmon were rushing to the ocean. What an awesome sight that was.

I am linking to SIGNS, SIGNS.

I’ve heard that currency bills are very dirty, but I never thought of coins being the same way. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a sign like this.

I never did understand that custom either! I’d rather hold on to my coins anyway ;>) Hope you got some pictures of the fish.

the fish don’t need the money. it is best to keep it to spend on yourself!

Interesting sign since I don’t think of coins as being dirty! People throw coins in water and then make a wish. I think it’s a strange custom…but lots of people do it! ;))

I’ve only seen people throw coins in a fountain; never a creek! I hope people listen to the sign for the sake of the environment and the fish!

Count me in with those who don’t understand tossing the coins in the creek; I even wonder about the fountains.

Yes, that must have been truly awesome to see the salmon heading toward the ocean!

That is odd that people throw coins in the creek. I’ve never seen that except in wishing wells that are in artificial pools and fountains.
