Watery Wednesday #94: Alexandria, Egypt

15 Feb

I hope this isn’t a repeat. Egypt has been in the news lately and we have prayed for their cause and praised their nonviolence revolution.

But I’m sad to hear about the looting at the Museum of Antiquities. In 2009 we visited that museum and was awestruck at all the items showcased in glass cabinets.

This is an image of the Citadel of Qaitbey by the Mediterrean Sea. The citadel/fort stands at the site of the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria.

The sky and water look so clear and blue and the citadel is quite impressive.

Wow, it’s so beautiful! I wonder if this scene is going to disappear with the chaos going on in Egypt. How sad that the museum was looted, the items lost are so precious.

I was also shocked when I heard the news. Egypt is one of the countries who has a lot of antiquities stored and it’s sad. I just hope that they will recover all of what is lost. Nice shot!! Thanks for visiting and cheers!

That’s a gorgeous shot. The citadel looks as if it’s floating! Great scene.
