National Donut Day

I did not know there is such a thing as a National Donut Day, but apparently there is, and today it is.  When was the last time you had a donut with your java?  I don’t usually pair donuts and coffee together.  When I used to still eat them at a regular basis, I would pair it with a Coke.  How do you eat it?

When healthy eating entered my subconscious and conscious mind, I have decided to let donut off my list of “safe” foods to eat.  I do however put it as a twice-a-year food.  Last year, I had it once, at Krispy Kreme, never liked it.  I still crave for the Dunkin Donuts kinds; I can’t find them anywhere here.  Here being East Bay.   My favorite was the gooey Boston Creme.  I have never been back at Krispy Kreme so I dont know if they make Boston Creme.

Okay, maybe it’s time for a donut eh?  Let me scour the neighborhood for something less nauseatingly sweet kind.

Happy Donut day and Happy weekend.

Darn, we don’t have Dunkin Donuts here 😦 but we do have Tim Horton’s 🙂

I still love the way how policemen and bus drivers do it on their spare time – a pit stop at the donut shop for and coffee and donuts 🙂
It’s a MUST HAVE on my early morning fishing trips.

There’s low fat and healthy donuts on the menu nowadays which is great but I still indulge on those heavenly calorie charged beauties esp in winter along with steaming hot brewed coffee 🙂

I used to have it with hot choco…mmmmmm We have a lot of Dunkin Donuts around here but they don’t taste the same as in the Philippines, they taste sort of like stale to me (or iba lang talaga ang timpla). Whenever I’d have it I would pine for the ones back in PI. Funny thing though because when I was there it didn’t taste the same either – must be cutting back on ingredients. I love Krispy Kreme, just the plain glazed donut. I am told that the freshly baked ones (as in straight from the oven) tastes even better. I am surprised you don’t have a DD branch over there.
