I must say I have done tasting at all of these except the first one. Nope, my palate cannot tell what bouquet is in the wine or if the barrel is oaky or what. Wine is wine to me 
It is the food pairing the makes the wine what it is, imho.

Another example of my walk-by shooting. Taken last summer in Chinatown (SF) as I was running errands. I had given almost no thought to shooting it. But I was attracted to the vibrant colors. When I go back, I’d like to rephotograph this and take my time doing so and maybe the artist’s name is inscribed somewhere in the artwork.

I cannot seem to combine this week’s themes so I’m doing them separately.
GATTINA’S KEYHOLE PICTURES has CITY HALL for this week’s theme.
I have wanted to do the SF city hall for today’s theme, but no matter how much digging at the archives I did last night, the image I had in mind simply eluded my search. Thankfully, I have this Carson City Hall photo uploaded on Flick’r. I called this once BRICK AND WHITE when I originally posted this in my other blog. Carson City is the capital of the great state of Nevada.
SANDI’S WHISTLE STOP PHOTO HUNT chose MAGICAL for today’s theme.
Very few moments can be as magical as when two consentual adults exchanged I DOs.

As I was writing this post I found a way to tie the themes together. Here it goes, magical when they said their I DOs in the city hall. Hahaha! Except that I don’t have wedding photos in a city hall. I can’t wait to see how other players have combined the themes.

Near San Francisco is this popular tidepooling spot James Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. I took shot of the signs
During low tides, you see incredible underwater sights like this.
And also during low tides, large beds of mussels are exposed, so tread carefully.

For this week’s letter R, I present to you the red rocks of the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.
The Valley of Fire derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs, 150 million years ago. Complex uplifting and faulting of the region, followed by extensive erosion, have created the present landscape. [website] Click on the website and find out more about it.
But the good thing about is that it is only an hour’s drive from the Vegas strip.

I was photographing it when he came in to say the artwork needed some shadows. After he was done I couldn’t tell where he put the shadows. I don’t have the artist’s eye, I’m afraid.
I wonder if they were all friends and the others chose to take a break instead of work.

For this week’s combined themes, I again went to the oldies folder and pulled out these shots. If you are with me and my blogs for years, you’d probably seen these shots. I beg your indulgence then. However, these photos fit the combined theme so perfectly.
Children and children at heart scoop water by their bare hands and hurl it at each other for an impromptu water fight.
While this child thought he could scoop out baby fishies by way of this empty water bottle.
Shots were from a family camping trip at Cabin 4 1/2 by Kings River, July 2007.
