Our World Tuesday #1:

29 Aug

Thank you to the wonderful ladies who have decided to continue this wonderful meme in honor of Klaus’ memory. I hope fellow players who actively participated in the past MY WORLD meme would also put the same enthusiasm and effort in the newly revamped version.

For this initial showing I’d like to show to you this temporary art installation along the San Francisco waterfront.

05-11-11 005
The Raygun Gothic Rocketship is a striking 40-foot, 8-ton sculpture that resides in the beautiful San Francisco waterfront for 14 months starting August 2010. It sits where the CROUCHING SPIDER temporarily resided.

Read this and this for more information about the installation.

I’m linking to the new OUR WORLD TUESDAY.

    Alien on the ground!

P.S. I went to the doctor last week for xray, so far no broken bones or cracks, but Ihave yet to get the result. My knee still bothers, and I am always the last to get to the top and the last to come back. Thanks for asking. If I will stop hiking, then I will miss all the fun and camaraderie.

A great entry for Our World, and a beautiful San Francisco day too. You can’t ask for more than that!

In memory of the cancelled space programme it is great to see this emblem at least still shining on San Francisco’s waterfront.
A beautiful shot and thanks for supporting Our World.

Beautiful photo. The rocket’s soft counts contrast beautifully with all the straight lines going in slightly different directions, and those three little clouds add the finishing touch.

Hi there – hate to say it – bit it looks like an Art Deco fruit juicer! Having said that I still like it!

    Cheers – SM

I’m so jealous. What a wonderful rocketship. So retro and all, totally unlike the shuttle and so “rocket man”

The Raygun Rocket ship sort of reminds me of a squid…! Love those three little clouds up above the bridge.
