CITIZEN CAKE

I was surprised to see Citizen Cake in Fillmore when I attended this year’s FILLMORE JAZZ FESTIVAL this past July 4th weekend. I remembered going to the restaurant when it was not located in Fillmore. I didn’t go in as we stuffed ourselves with fair food.

I am linking this post to SIGNS, SIGNS.

I’m assuming this is a play on the name Citizen Kane…but the rest of the connection is kind of lost on me. I guess they sell cakes?

I guess if you are stuffed can’t have one’s cake and eat it too.

I love businesses with name play, brings a simile to the day. That and the fact is says patisserie. I once past a bakery (without a camera, shame) called Agnatha Crusty.
