Sky Watch #131: Summer Sky

17 Mar

IMG_4025
The past two weeks I have posted sunsets and to break the monotony, I am posting something from the archive.

July 18, 2010 – deep into summer and it’s gloomy and foggy. You could almost believe the quote – the coldest winter i ever saw was a summer i spent in san francisco – supposedly by mark twain.

The white structure is the CONSERVATORY OF FLOWERS inside Golden Gate Park. Here is the website.

I love it, especially since I grew up in San Francisco and didn’t know there was any other kind of weather than fog until I was 11 years old.

Fog in San Francisco? How unusual – it’s always been sunny when I’ve been there! Anyway, nice photo.

Looks so cloudy and foggy. Is it unusual for a summer weather?

Regarding your inquiry, I am taking time off from memes, been busy on a special project and some travel plans, hoping to share someday.

This is one quote I have yet to hear from Mark Twain. Interesting design for a conservatory. Beautifully white-washed and uniquely wooden. πŸ™‚

interesting conservatory. If it is a botanical garden, it should be a great place to take macro shots of flowers.

It was wonderful your showing us a foggy sky instead of our usual bright blue ones. I think this looked like a lovely day…not do sunny and hot. Lovely shot.

That is indeed one gray sky – we get a lot of those in Michigan, too. It makes for interesting photos and helps us not take our beautiful blue skies for granted.
