Sky Watch #111: September Sky

07 Oct

002
As we took the Fremont Street entrance to the city we were greeted with blue clear skies.

027
By the time we parked the car and was descending into the waterfront, the fog has started to come in.

069
An hour later the bridge has been swallowed by the fog. That was our cue to hurry back to the East Bay where we could find the sun and enjoy the rest of this lovely September day.

Skywatch is a weekly gathering of sky lovers and sky watchers. Please join us.

Frankly My Dear… These are awesome shots! Unusual for me to see fog AFTER a clear blue sky – that just doesn’t happen here. LoL!

Wonderful sky shots and I’m loving that bridge shot. Need to visit my friend on Noe Valley so I can see all the wonders again.

It’s interesting to see the fog rolling in through this photo sequence. The sky in that first photo is gorgeous.

I haven’t been to San Francisco for a long time. A really long time. In the 70s, I think. So your photos make me realize where we should think of going.

Classic SF shots! Like Tricia said, we almost never get fog after a blue sky, when we get fog it’s at sunrise and it usually burns off very quickly.

Fog can really be an interesting thing. I drove in it this morning on my way fishing and it was a mess.

    Great pictures.

It just really shows how fast the sky can change in a few minutes. Foggy it may be but it made for a wonderful photo.

Beautiful shots. Very lovely view of the city. The way bridge is engulfed by the mist is shot beautifully.

That fog really has a way of sweeping in across the bay, doesn’t it! Great shots…such a fun place to photograph! Just don’t forget to bring a jacket!
