My World #77: Sporting World

21 Jun

Pebble Beach hosted the 2010 US Opens, for golf aficionados I’m sure you know that.  I am more interested in this well manicured patch of green by the ocean.  I don’t know what hole this one is.

Has football (or soccer here) fever swept America?  I don’t know about that. But many bars have opened their doors early to accommodate the revenue coming from fanatics of the sports by serving breakfast in time for the 7 and 9 am games.  While driving around Sausalito a week ago, I also noticed this sign on an Italian establishment advertising their coverage of the World Cup games. I don’t know how many would get up to watch the games before going to work.  However, I have a tentative breakfast date with a group of people to watch a match on one of those bars that advertise games on 3-D.  I can’t believe that!

Show your world at MY WORLD.

I love your first photo in particular, but it is fun to see the “sporting” fever everywhere these days! Hope you have a great week! Enjoy!

I love the green by the water and fun that you have a breakfast date to watch the world cup.

I love the greens by the water shot and the Taste of Rome would be my choice. I love Italian food.

Oh what memories you bring up in my mind 🙂 Wonderful memories of a journey. We went to Pebble Beach and spend a night there and also to Sausalito … back in the early 80ties.
We cruised around in California in a corvette – what times!

Soccer is big here in Canada even though Canada did not qualify!

With about six years without TV I try to avoid soccer as much as possible, rather spending time with my small son. How wonderful to see the colour green, must be nice to breath while walking alongside the sea. Please have a wonderful Tuesday.

I like seeing your photos from areas I’ve just visited! I won’t be watching soccer on TV – but, I know that the sport has avid fans.

Great photo, I’ve never been to Pebble Beach. I’ve hardly heard anyone talking about the World Cup here in Colorado.

I’ve seen pictures of Pebble Beach and I think it is a gorgeous golf course. I’d be interested in knowing what you think of 3-D television. I’ve read about ESPN’s three dimensional broadcasts, but I can’t imagine how it would work.

    Neat photos.

I have not succumbed to the soccer/football heat wave, though I don’t mind the new flavors around.

NBA, World Cup, then the US Open and now Wimbledon! My sports loving friends don’t get to sleep and work much nowadays! Haha! Not much of a fan, but don’t really have a choice when BF is around. He’s incommunicado especially during World Cup season. Haha! I remember when we were in Africa 4 years ago, it was World Cup season… I learned to appreciate the game coz I had to watch it every night. 🙂

Not very keen of soccer, but great strategy to get customers. 🙂

Ome places have wide screen TV for fans to watch. I went once, and together with beer, the fans can be very passionate.

The only sports I love is basketball. Though they say that golf is very interesting, I still have to learn how the game is played.

Soccer Fever is here too. I could hear the shouting of GOAL everynight over here.

The colors of the store is very UAE (flag), except that there’s no black on it. The first photo is so calming.

Even I’ve heard of Pebble beach, ewok, and I don’t play golf… But what is that big case and those blue balls doing on the green? 🙂
