Photo Hunt #85: Memorial

28 May

The Temple of Hephaestus in the ancient Greek agora is a memorial to Hephaestus who is the Greek god of fire and volcanoes and of all craftsmen and smiths. He is the equivalent of the Roman god Vulcan.

Snapped from Acropolis, November 2009.

such architecture have influence all over the Western World. The front of the church I was married in is similar. It is called the Auckland baptist Tabernacle.

A very interesting shot that manages to come across as very untouristy. Good job! 🙂

Excellent photo. I love the shot and the way it was taken above. I forget the ancient temples were also memorials to their gods.
