Thank you very much for your kind comment! Where is this fishing pier? Is that Alcatraz in the horizon?
March 25, 2010 at 9:38 pm
Yes that’s Alcatraz in the background. This pier is the one at the foot of Van Ness I think they call the SF municipal pier.

What a marvelous shot with the island in the distance and the people messing with their fishing tackle up close and the great light.
March 25, 2010 at 10:10 pm
The simple yet delightful sky is the perfect backdrop for the easy breezy fishing scene.
March 25, 2010 at 10:14 pm
Very nice, Ewok. I like the way the cloud divides the sky into two colors on the diagonal. And the sailboat next to Alcatraz is nice touch as well.
March 25, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Great view of water and sky! The clouds always come right down to the horizon there.

That stone wall is great for those fisherman, sitting or laying against it for rest and support throughout a day of fishing.
March 26, 2010 at 2:39 am
Very nice photo of the water, the fishers, the shadows… There’s a lot to see in this photo to enjoy.

My what a magnificent view the fishermen have and the skies over head are beautiful.

So love that fall of cloud behind the ship! IT looks like the slope of a mountain! And a wonderful play of shadow shapes to help weave a story round the scene!
