Sky Watch #79:

25 Feb

As far as my spotty memory could recall, in all of the past 78 skywatch entries, I have never posted any skywatching during the night.  I watch the moon but my tool of the trade is not sophisticated enough to do the moon any justice.  Hence, I shall only be content with showing you the blackness of the night sky.

A two-picture post today.  I can’t help smile whenever I see the sign of spring around my neighborhood.  Our skies have been grey and drizzly this week, and a strong storm (their word) is coming tomorrow.  Thunder and lightning they (meteorologists) say accompanies the rain.  Hope it doesn’t happen when I’m on the road – I’m scared of lightning and thunder!!!

A car is a safe place to be during a thunderstorm. Beautiful shots. Cruise ships at night are amazing! I love the spring shot, too!!

Now, a cruise to somewhere warm would be good, but signs of spring would do too – sadly neither happening here. Great shots both.

Love the ship and the lovely signs of spring against that blue sky!! It is a hopeful sign isn’t it? We’re seeing a lot of that here in Seattle and it’s glorious! Terrific photos as always! Have a wonderful weekend!

Awesome shots, I understand that some people are phobic about lightning and thunder however, dewdrop is correct in saying that car’s are a safe place. Thanks for sharing EWOK:)

That night shot is fabulous. You inspire me to get out and do the same…I need the practice! I love thunder and lightning as long as it’s not right over my head…a little distance is nice.

Love the second photo…it looks like the sakura flowers…spring is on its way! good for you…I would love to experience what is it like during the spring season, unfortunately we do have extreme weather here in UAE, hot summer and cold winter.

It is always a challenge for me to take pictures during the night…night photography can be very difficult but am loving it. Your shot is fantastic.
