Watery Wednesday #43:

26 Jan

The rains we had and we’re still having have significantly improved the volume of San Pablo Reservoir and other reservoirs and dams all around the Bay Area, giving us a little hope (fingers crossed) that the amount of rainfall was significant enough to avoid a water rationing this summer.

San Pablo Reservoir is owned and operated by the East Bay Municipal Utility District. The reservoir is storage facility for drinking water so no swimming and wading allowed. EBMUD also operated the San Pablo Reservoir Recreation Area, popular for fishing, boating, picnicking, hiking. There is an entrance fee of around 6 dollars.

There is also a hiking and biking trail that is accessible via San Pablo Dam Road. You don’t need to pay the entrance fee. One lazy afternoon, that’s where we decided to do some walking and take some photos.

Here is the home of Watery Wednesday. Join us.

I’m glad there are some benefits to all the rain you’ve gotten. This reservoir looks like a great place for a hike.

the rain finally! let up today for us (up in Humboldt). It was nice to see some blue sky. I know southern CA needs it bad, so that’s good. that looks like a nice spot, hope you had a good hike, nice pics šŸ™‚

Those are beautiful shots. Our reservoir is at capacity but I can remember dealing with it getting too low in the past. Rain is so important. Thanks for visiting my WW post and to answer your question I’m not sure what the pottery was originally intended for. It’s in a Folk Art museum and it’s enormous so hard to imagine it being used in a functional setting.

I hope you’re right and don’t have to ration water.

That’s a crystal clear shot! The rain had stopped now and usually when I am inside the house, I can’t even hear the rain.

We are going to have some sunshine and clouds all through the weekend!
