Watery Wednesday #40: My 300th post

05 Jan

This is Mouse’s Tank. Named for a renegade Indian who used the area as a hideout in the 1890’s. Mouse’s Tank is a natural basin in the rock where water collects after rainfalls, sometimes remaining for months.

Taken February 2009, Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada.

That is my favorite red rock! I have driven past the sign for the turn off of Valley of Fire so many times on my way to Las Vegas…I must plan a detour next time. I love all the red rock I can find! Fabulous photo!

Lovely shot. All I can think of is how it would be *really* bad to fall into that water/mud!
