Watery Wednesday #22

04 Aug

It’s August already! And that means before long summer will give way to autumn and chilly weather – yeah even here in California.  But we have been having so many cooler than normal days this summer that beach going has been postponed.  Water around here is cool, if not downright cold.  So one has to really wait for hot temps to be able to enjoy the beach.  And our coastal areas this summer had a hard time even getting up in the 70s.  Oh well, I think I will just have to wait until September to go to the beach.  September is perenially when the heat comes in.

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer so far, lots of beach and ice cream and iced tea and lemonade and those yummy baby back ribs on the grill.

Want to see more water images, visit WATERY WEDNESDAY, hosted by Sweet and Saxy.

It’s always nice to see a beach picture especially a California beach. Very nice indeed.

It’s been cooler than usual here too! It only gets into the low 90’s at most, when we typically get at least a week around 100.

My friends in the pacific northwest, particularly Seattle, tell me that they’ve been getting most of the heat recently.

the photo is somewhat funny. The birds located on the sand and people and dogs in the water.
Hope you can take a swim soon.

Great shot! I’ve missed the beach so far this summer. I don’t mind that it’s been a little cooler if you live anywhere that will get those cooler ocean breezes. This isn’t the case where I live. I’m so glad my job is in the cooler areas. 🙂

Oh, fun in the sun on the beach – well, if you were having warmer weather, I guess there would be. So many different temps going on in the US right now. We had heat indexes of 104 today in Southeast Missouri, which is normal – but most of this summer has been really mild & that’s the weather I really enjoy!

    Have a wonderful WW!

It’s kinda funny how the gulls are nestled in the warm sand watching the people in the water! 🙂
    Great shot!
Summer is so coming to an end all too soon!!

It looks so lovely and bright, I bet it makes a change from the sea fogs you get in the winter. Thanks for sharing EWOK:)

That looks like a wonderful place to cool off in the summer. I’ve never been to the beach. I think the closest one to me is several hundred miles south of here in Texas. =) Wonderful shot.

A nice beach shot. Unlike van Gogh’s ‘Ptato Eaters’ here all the people and amimals are connectet at least in pairs. A great shot.

I like the birds watching the people! Though I must say I do find it hard to sympathize with Californians going on about winter cold—I mean, really!

Even (especially) the dogs enjoy the beach.

It HAS been cooler (for the most part) this summer and the water temp IS chilly! I love your less crowded beach scene. My lab Molly LOVES to frolic on the beach with other fur-friends too ;–)
    Hugs and blessings,

I’m not sure where you are in CA. My daughter and daughter-in-law just moved to Santa Barbara last week. Can’t wait to visit them. I’ve only ever been to SF.
