My World #14: A beautiful winter day in Lake Tahoe

19 Jan

Remember my entry for My World #12?  There I talked about how we could drive 3 hours for a taste of snow and I showed you some photos I took from the freeway.  I thought for this week’s entry I was going to revisit Lake Tahoe and shared with you our nice Sunday in Lake Tahoe.

This Sunday, being the second of a three-day weekend, we decided to walk under tall trees with snow making crunching noises with our every step and forego any stop at a casino.  We were successful.  No casino time.  It was a beautiful day to begin our drive.  We parked our car  beside the road and explored.  Found this trail after crossing a narrow bridge.  This park is filled with quaking aspens and very deserted.  Only the sound of running water could be heard.  It was wonderful.  We saw this marker and took the trail to the right.

This is what we found when we followed that trail.  We took a long time snapping and shooting everything in sight.  The temperature was fluctuating from 44 to 48 and it was glorious.

This was a trip with the sole intention of being outdoors with nature and of course a photo op for both me and my husband (pictured here).  He has the big camera and I was using my trusted point and shoot.  Here he is seen at work.  By this time I was ready to leave.

I was keen on getting my own shots too.  Above is one of the shots I took that did not include hubby shooting something.   I knew we were finally getting a late lunch early dinner (at 4 pm) when hubby asked if I had enough material for my blog.  He used to be very suspicious of blogging; now he’s very supportive of it.

In some way, my husband was the same…now before we eat he asks….did you got a photo of this dish already? and he would sometimes arrange it for me 😛 Enjoy your week! Sorry for my absence…

What a beautiful place. The snow wouldn’t be lasting long at those temperatures though. I too am glad your husband got on board with your blogging. What is it that makes some men suspicious of their wives’ online activity? I am married to one 😉

Much better choice than blowing a wad of money at a casino! I suppose you could have gotten some interesting photos of the slots or the gaming tables, but nothing like this.

    Good call!

Excellent snow shots, it’s difficult to get the lighting just right. I tried unsuccessfully on Monday and posted a waffle still life instead. Frustration is……
