My World #7: San Francisco Cable Car

01 Dec

Twas a busy week wasn’t it?  I have missed two photo memes last week because of my short break in preparation for Thanksgiving.  And honestly, I am ill prepared for this week’s My World too.  But I am digging something from the archives again.

Here’s another iconic San Fran image,  a moving National Historic Landmark, the cable car is seen here traversing California Street

My World is a photo meme headed by the same people who does Sky Watch.  Please go and visit them and you’ll find  a list of participants for a taste of other people’s world.

Love San Francisco’s cable cars and your sepia rendition gives it even more national monument status.

I didn’t miss posting (mainly because my regular memes are scheduled through the end of the year) but I was a little late in linking a few of them.

I like the monochrome treatment here. It gives a good mood to the shot. One more reason I want to visit there. I think my oldest son and I are the only ones in the family that haven’t!

I love trams, though it makes me miss Melbourne a little.

I have just finished a novel set in San Francisco. My husband has been there, so it helps me to read the book as his photos and explanation helped me understand the city a little.

Archives or not, it’s a great shot. I’ve only been to Frisco once and never did get on their cable car. I wish now that I had, but I did take the boat around Alcatraz. 🙂

The cable cars are such fun. I love to visit San Francisco. Often we fly in to Oakland and take the BART over for a day or evening of fun. I invite you to come see the Hulks, a unique aspect of my town, Powell River, BC. They are historic in their own way. – Margy
