Our pets like to soak up the sun and in the early afternoon, the stairs get a lot of sun. That is where we found them enjoying the sun when we got back from grocery shopping.
Buster (orange) likes to greet us at the door like a dog, but Emma (gray tuxie) would feign indifference.
While Buster went one step lower, Emma remained in the upper landing/rung to continue soaking up the sun.
The reason why Buster went one rung lower? To give catpapa a high five or high four for getting his favorite noms.

Great take on the themes. Beautiful cats!
To answer your question, I don’t have any pets anymore although the neighborhood cats hang out in my front yard a lot. I keep the back gates closed to discourage them from bothering the backyard birds which works for the most part but the cats will greet me when I get out of my car and rub up against me. If I got another pet it would be a dog and at my age and health I haven’t wanted to commit to outliving a puppy. I’m not that old, 55, but I’ve had health issues. I was considering getting a puppy around 2005 when I was diagnosed with melanoma but after that decided not to.

Get the sense from these photos that these are happy pets (and that their owners love them very much)! 🙂

One of our cats is like that as well – always goes to the uppermost spot he can! I think he likes to spy down on everyone else.
Have a great weekend.
