I agree with the sign. A Mexican deli is indeed a Mexicatessen. Spotted in Richmond, CA. They have good food in the back. I think only a few people other than the neighborhood knows they serve really wonderful tasting food in the back courtyard.

We have had a rainy winter. It is raining today. However, I like what I see in my backyard. It’s spring back there. The birds are back and I have four regular cat visitors. They probably like my backyard, or else they were there for the birds that come and feed.
Here’s how my backyard is looking the last month.

The apple tree is blooming.

Do you remember this post I wrote in the fall when I was voicing my confusion at my apple tree? Well all winter long we had some sort of apples on the tree, they never really grew.

Fun to see blooms and fruit together at the same time.

This plum tree was very prolific last summer. We had a big harvest and it looks like a repeat this year, fingers crossed.

It’s coming y’all, spring is here!

Can you see me? I took a picture of my reflection on the glass on this wintry February day in Grand Canyon. The canyon is behind me.

Seen in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood (Little Italy). Saloon on the bottom floor and law office upstairs. Quite a pairing, don’t you think.
