Sky Watch #120: October Sky

Next week is already Christmas, how crazy is that? Another year of skywatching is almost over.

Like many of you, I am busy, busy with preparations for the arrival of Jesus. I will be hosting the family’s Christmas luncheon. My brothers and I take turns and this year is my turn.

That’s why I wasn’t able to spend as much time as I wanted in going over my more current sky shots to show here.

October 14, Thursday, a Skywatch day. I came out of the house to this beautiful display above. So I shoot.

One is not enough so I took another one before driving away.

And against my better judgement, I shot another one while I was driving 1-80.

And halfway thru my commute, the traffic slowed down and again I took a shot.

These are the condos facing the bay, fantastic views they have.

From there, I resolved to continue the rest of my commute – 10 more miles – concentrating on the road.

Window Views and Doors Too #50: Writings on the Windows

IMG_1891
Nothing fancy about this window, the image itself is crappy. But what’s worth noting is the advertisement on the window telling people that ocean view dining for a 3-course meal is 12.95 – in Monterey!!!! I saw this right after I had just eated – sigh. So anyone who’s going to be in Monterey, in Cannery Row anytime soon and you happen to partake of this wonderful steal of a deal, let me know how the food tastes, okay?

Did I do as I was asked? What do you think?

I cannot believe this is my 50th window views.

Join us and Teach Mary in showcasing your windows and doors at WINDOW VIEWS AND DOORS TOO.

Watery Wednesday #86:

Are you ready for another surfer image? I tell you I have this fascination with surfers as photo subjects. I still have to go into my archives and see how many surfer images I have snapped through the years.

Hope your Holiday preparation is not too chaotic. Happy Holidays.

Another trip to Monterey without a visit to the the gallery of Thomas Kinkade, painter of light.  I got familiar with his work a long time ago on my first trip to Monterey when I entered one of his shops and browsed at his works.

May be next time, I’d be able to pencil in a visit to this place. I’m guessing the mansion alone where his gallery is housed is worth the visit.

Photo Hunt #111: Funny

I'm Cold!

Since I became a pet/cat owner early this year, there is no shortage of funny moments and antics that imitate the humans in our household.

My husband tells me how our little Buster would cuddle up to him soon as I leave for work every day. My husband goes to work later than I am so he gets to sleep in more, lucky him.

I did not really believe our little Buster would be capable of sitting or not moving for a single moment; he is such a haywire, a little tasmanian devil.

So one day dear hubs showed me this picture he took that showed Buster cuddled up in the sheets next to him and trying to sneak in more snooze time. Funny and cute, don’t you agree?

Sky Watch #119: Tropical Depression

092

I was thankful that the hurricane switched gears when we went to visit Cancun. No hurricane but were left with a tropical depression that gave me dramatic skies to capture.

I find all the little details of the facade including the shadows of the iron grills really pretty. I cannot remember which part of San Francisco this is.

On a rainy day in May, I noticed this boy walking along the shore in Cannery Row, Monterey.

Photo Hunt #110: Hard to find

street photography

Who says good samaritans are hard to find in a big city like San Francisco? When this cyclist took a tumble, three people came to his rescue immediately.
