I would really like to see the Iron Chefs judge the final of Search for the Next Iron Chef. I am writing this about 2 hours before the show. Wouldn’t it be really cool to see that Morimoto giving a thumbs up on a Southern/Louisiana cuisine of John Besh? At the very beginning of the show, I was giving John Besh the odds to win, but lately, particularly in the past two shows, Michael Symon is showing the stuff he’s made off, and that impresses me a lot. Anyway, I can wait another 2 hours.

I know it’s just about 2 weeks to Thanksgiving, but despite being inundated with reminders from newspapers insets giving recipes for Thanksgiving, we have not really begun our preparations. Until I hear whether we’re having a family affair, I will not be able to start my own preparations. I do, however, started to mentally go through the recipes/menus in my mind. I have just a few moments ago found this good pumpkin cheesecake recipe that uses yogurt to supplement/replace half of the required crème cheese. Hope it turns out as well as it is on the picture.

Twas a rainy Saturday around these parts. Forecast called for rain coming in late Saturday lasting overnight. Apparently, rain didn’t get the memo as it was wet and gray when we woke up. It is welcome around these parts any precipitation we could get. Last summer, most of our lakes and dams went really low and another dry winter would really get us in big trouble next summer. So far, the rain has been coming this early in the season. The rain did leave overnight, as it was sunny and pleasant and warm all day today. I could use some more of the lazy rainy weekend.

Thankfully, I have tomorrow off, Veteran’s Day. I am sure my father being an Army Vet qualifies me to take the day off. What to do? Well, I have to drive mom while she runs her errands.
